Visited an old friend back from my college days. Lunch on her back verandah with a visit by the local magpie wanting some of our food :) plus overlooking some lovely chooks in her backyard. Didn't realise how fun & peaceful they are to look at!
Plus my garden has started blooming. So exciting!!

a more serious post...
The last couple of weeks I've been able to catch up with old friends I haven't seen for a while. So great to see them & so encouraging to hear what God has been doing in & through them! Prayer letters are great, but getting an indepth conversation of how things are is so much better :)
It's made me ponder whether the missios our church partners with are real partnerships. We pray & send cards/gifts but do we make decisions with them? Or is that left to the expertise of the 'organisation' they are with or seconded to? What did partnership look like for the early church? And can we use the same model or is it just that we live in different times now & that's ok?
Anyway, as I re-connect with people, I am so thankful for how God has provided these people in my life, however long or short a time. A reminder of the wonderful privilege of journeying with people through the ups & downs.
On a less important note, I've been watching The West Wing again from season 1. I love this show! Such clever dialogue & quirky personalities. Every time I watch it, it makes me want to be part of something big! To be able to make a difference for the good of others. To have leaders who are worth following - just as Paul talks about imitating him. How exciting that would be if we as Christians remember that we ARE part of something big. We are part of God's plans & purposes in saving souls. How much more important can you get?! The urgency & amazingness of this, I always have to keep reminding myself of, especially when things are hard or feel mundane!! It challenges me to think, am I a leader worth following??...
