city tourist

A rainy, humid day. Perfect for the indoors. Its amazing that when you pause there is so much beauty to notice. QVB...

In search for T.T.s but sadly it had already closed down. Bumped into some other lovely things/places though :)

A perfect place to sit & read

water trip

A lovely relaxing unexpected boat ride just going nowhere. Can't remember the last time I was on a small boat. Oh hang on, yes I do. 15 years ago - a tiny tug boat in Thailand where the driver was flooring the gas to beat a storm - someone throwing up, my friend praying, all of us drenched. But by God's grace, we didn't flip & we made it back ok!

This trip was nothing like that, thank God. Only a couple of air-born times plus we hit a sand bank - lots of good fun sitting on the deck! :)

Imitation!
One hand driving :)

first blog

Funny how lots of Fairfield things aren't in Fairfield!

Fairfield Museum in Smithfield - Food Flavour Fusion Exhibition, celebrating multiculturalism. Launched with cooking demo of Chinese, Viet & Assyrian food. Some cool displays too - from a Chinese massage pillow, spaghetti maker, Assyrian winged bull, old movie projector, sewing machine, baby weigher to Fairfield's farming history - chaff cutter, general store, printing presses, old school classroom

Then for a drive down south - down an obscure road. Thought I was lost! Where the entrance is in a different suburb to the actual building - Casula Powerhouse Art Centre.  Been in this area for over 30 years and can't believe I haven't been here - so random, refreshingly SW random! Part warehouse, part art gallery. People cleaning. Sewerage pipes as part of the decor. An interesting place to sit & read at the cafe. Great theatre room. Love the 'eternity' tank :)
